Packing Machine FAQ

Answers about quotations, testing, voltage, lead time, payment, installation, warranty and choosing the right packing machine.

Ordering & service

What information do you need to quote a packing machine?

Five things: (1) the product and its form — powder, granule, liquid or solid; (2) weight or volume per pack; (3) required speed in packs per minute or per day; (4) pack type and size — sachet, stick, pillow bag, gusset bag, premade zipper pouch, bottle; and (5) your voltage (e.g. 220 V 1-phase or 380/415/440 V 3-phase, 50/60 Hz). Photos of a sample pack help a lot.

Can you test my product before I buy?

Yes. Send product samples and film or pouches; we run them on the machine and send you a video and the finished packs, free of charge.

What voltage do your machines use?

Standard is 220 V or 380 V, 50 Hz. We build to your local supply — for example 110 V 60 Hz (USA), 220 V 60 Hz, 415 V 50 Hz (Europe/Australia) or 440 V 60 Hz — at no or little extra cost.

What is the lead time?

Standard machines ship in about 20–35 working days after deposit; complete lines and custom projects in about 35–60 days.

What are your payment terms?

Typically 30 % T/T deposit and 70 % balance before shipment after you approve the factory acceptance test (FAT) video. L/C at sight is accepted for larger orders.

Do you provide installation and training?

Yes. Every machine is tested with your product before shipment and comes with an English manual, wiring diagram and video guides. Our engineers can travel to your factory for installation, commissioning and operator training; the buyer covers air tickets, visa, accommodation and the engineer's daily allowance. Remote video support is always free.

How long is the warranty?

18 months on the machine (wear parts excluded), with lifetime technical support. A set of wear parts is shipped with every machine and spare parts are kept in stock for fast dispatch.

Are your machines CE certified?

Machines are built to CE requirements on request. They are built with food-grade SUS304 (or SUS316L) contact parts and branded electrical components.

Which countries do you export to?

We supply customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and South Asia. Ask us for reference videos of machines running in your region.

Choosing a machine

How many sachets per minute can a multi-lane machine produce?

Each lane runs 25–40 cuts per minute, so output = lanes × speed. A 4-lane FL-M500 makes about 100–160 sachets/min; a 10-lane FL-M700 about 250–400; a 16-lane FL-M980 up to about 640 sachets/min, depending on the powder and the fill weight.

Which powders can be dosed accurately?

Free-flowing and non-free-flowing powders such as milk powder, coffee, protein, flour, seasoning and medicinal powder. Auger (screw) dosing is used; a stirrer and screw size are matched to your powder's flowability and fill weight. Send us a sample for a free test.

What is the difference between 4-side seal, 3-side seal and back seal?

4-side seal gives a flat square sachet sealed on all four edges (premium look, common for seasoning and medicine); 3-side seal is similar with one fold edge; back seal (stick pack) has a long vertical seam and is typical for coffee, sugar and supplement sticks.

What film should I use?

Heat-sealable laminated film such as PET/PE, PET/AL/PE, OPP/CPP or paper/PE. Film thickness and the maximum film width depend on the model (500, 700 or 980 mm).

What fill weight can a stick pack machine handle?

Typical stick packs hold 1–50 g (or ml). The fill range depends on stick width and length; tell us your target weight and stick size and we will select the screw, cup or pump.

Can one machine pack both powder and liquid?

No — the dosing system differs. Powder uses auger screws, granules use volumetric cups and liquids use pumps. The bag-forming mainframe is the same, so we configure the doser for your product.

How many operators are needed?

One operator can run the machine: loading film, refilling the hopper (or using an automatic feeder) and checking output.

Is a single-lane machine enough for my output?

At 25–40 bags/min one machine produces roughly 12,000–19,000 sachets per 8-hour shift. If you need more, a 2–4 lane machine multiplies output with one operator.

Does it need compressed air?

Yes, 0.8 MPa air at about 0.8 m³/min. We can supply a matched screw air compressor.

10-head or 14-head weigher — which do I need?

A 10-head weigher suits most snacks up to about 60 weighments/min. A 14-head weigher is faster and more accurate, recommended for high-speed lines or expensive products such as nuts and dried fruit.

Can it handle sticky or frozen products?

Yes. Dimpled or Teflon-coated buckets and an inclined or gentle-drop VFFS are used for sticky, fragile or frozen foods such as dumplings.

How long does installation take?

Usually 3–7 days on site including test running and operator training. Remote video commissioning is also available.

Which frame size should I choose?

Choose by bag width: the film width ≈ (bag width + 10 mm) × 2. For a 200 mm wide bag you need ~420 mm film, so the FL-V420 or FL-V520. Larger 5–25 kg bags need the FL-V730 or FL-V900.

Linear weigher or multihead weigher?

Linear weighers are economical for free-flowing, uniform granules (sugar, rice, beans) at moderate speed. Multihead weighers are faster and better for irregular products like chips and candy.

How accurate is auger filling?

Typically ±1 % for fill weights above 100 g and about ±1–2 g below 100 g, depending on powder density and flowability.

Can it pack fine, dusty powders?

Yes. We add a dust-suction port, anti-drip auger and closed hopper; for very fine powder we recommend a vacuum feeder.

Can it pack sauce with solid pieces?

Yes, with a large-bore piston pump and rotary valve. Tell us the maximum particle size.

How do you avoid leaking seals?

Anti-drip nozzles, liquid-stopping clamps and extended sealing jaws with temperature PID control prevent product contaminating the seal area.

Premade pouch or VFFS — which is better?

VFFS makes bags from roll film and has the lowest packaging cost per bag. Premade pouch machines use printed pouches (zipper, flat-bottom, spout) for a premium retail look and fast size changeover. Many customers start with VFFS for bulk and use premade for retail lines.

Can it fill zipper pouches?

Yes. The machine opens the zipper and the pouch mouth with suction cups and a zipper-opening device, then fills and seals below the zipper.

What is the vacuum version for?

The rotary vacuum premade machine evacuates air before sealing — used for pickles, meat, rice bricks and other products that need extended shelf life.

Upper-film or lower-film flow wrapper?

Upper-film (standard) suits products in trays or with a defined top/bottom. Lower-film (back-pull) suits soft, sticky or irregular products like noodles, vegetables and bread, because the product lies on the film rather than on a belt.

Can it link to my production line?

Yes. An automatic sorting/feeding line receives products from your oven, cooling or moulding line, aligns them and feeds the wrapper — single-layer or stacked.

Can you match my bottle?

Yes. Send bottle and cap samples or drawings; we design change parts for each size and can include several sets.

Is the line suitable for carbonated drinks?

No, these piston fillers are for still (non-gas) liquids and pastes.

Can one line run several jar sizes?

Yes, with change parts for each jar and a recipe on the weigher; changeover takes 15–30 minutes.

Semi-automatic or fully automatic?

Semi-automatic (operator hangs the bag) is economical for up to about 5,000 bags per day or limited floor space. Fully automatic (automatic bag placing) suits 10,000+ bags per day and needs only one operator.

How fast is the payback?

Typical payback is 6–10 months for semi-automatic lines and 12–18 months for fully automatic lines, depending on local labour costs.

Do I need a check weigher?

If you sell by weight in the EU, UK, USA or Gulf markets, a check weigher is strongly recommended to reject under-weight packs and document compliance.
